6m x 1.93m x 20mm Land Roller

Over the years we have spent a lot of time working on our Land Roller design. This continues on today as we are looking to update materials, construction, and the way we do things to produce an even better finished product. Of course clients play a large role in exacting what their requirements are, and what we need to do to achieve them. What this means is a purpose built implement designed around your needs and suited to all conditions that the New Zealand countryside can throw at it.

And this is where the latest huge roller to roll out of our workshop comes in to being, where we have a customer who required a special very wide roller to suit his farm and requested we look into manufacturing him a roller that is unique in its design by being only one roller but 6.0 meters wide rolling width, instead of the usual twin rollers, so after lots of drawing, calculating and thinking, we got permission to go ahead and manufacture.

This Roller is 6.0 Meters rolling width x 9.860 Tonne empty x 26.6 Tonne when full of water, and is made in three sections to ensure it turns freely and is very manoeuvrable both in the paddock and lane ways, it also has a special unique to Pluck’s Engineering, tow bar design, that is a spring loaded towing attachment that takes all the shock out of the towing that comes from the connection between the roller and tractor.

What size Heavy Roller do I need?

Size will be determined by:

  • Stone size - how big your stones are will affect what plate thickness you need:
    - 16mm (shingle up to fist size)
    - 20mm (fist up to pumpkin)
    - 25mm (rugby ball or bigger)
    - no stones or swampy
  • Horsepower of tractor; it's important to match your towing capacity to the weight of roller
  • If your land has rolling, undulating hills or it's flat (if your tractor is 4WD, this also influences the roller model).

There's nothing worse than machinery letting you down at the critical moment. Don't settle for imitations.
